'The world loses a Dick': Cheney's obituary
The former US vice-president's death closes a career marked by war, torture and ruthless power.

“The evil that men do lives after them…"
On November 3, 2025, the notorious American politician, Dick Cheney (b. 1941), died from complications related to pneumonia and vascular disease.
His evil legacy, much of which was carried out during Bush administrations (both father and son) will not be forgotten.
Cheney will primarily be remembered for the tens of thousands of violent deaths following the 2003 invasion of Iraq, which he orchestrated with false information, and for his promotion of enhanced interrogation techniques which included some of the most barbaric methods of torture.
He was also instrumental in the United States invasion of Panama (December 20, 1989 – January 31, 1990) which resulted in hundreds of deaths including over 200 civilians.
“The good is oft interred with their bones.”
One good thing that Cheney can be commended for is that in 2004 he supported same-sex marriage, ruffling many Republicans, including his boss, President George W. Bush.
However, perhaps the best thing he did was endorse Democrat Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
No, it is not that she deserved to be supported by anyone, but Cheney’s endorsement proved (if proof was ever needed) that Harris was just another chip of the old block: a hostage to unfettered capitalism and rampant Zionism.
Cheney’s approval rating dropped from 68% after the September 11, 2001 attacks to a mere 13% after his tenure.
The chances are that he will not be widely missed.
